About The Position

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds Community College is seeking a qualified and dedicated Economics Instructor to join the Business and Economics Department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in economics, foster student success through effective teaching and advising, and contribute to curriculum development and program assessment. This position requires a commitment to teaching excellence, innovation, and service within a diverse academic community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate-level semester hours in Economics.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience and/or college-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach transfer and non-transfer courses in Economics, including Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.
  • Maintain a standard teaching load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester.
  • Hold regular office hours and provide academic advising to students.
  • Participate in curriculum and course development, program assessment, and college service activities.
  • Engage with the local business and economic community to support student learning and career readiness.
  • Teaching assignments may include day, evening, online, hybrid, or dual enrollment courses across multiple campuses.
  • Opportunities for summer teaching may be available based on student demand.
