About The Position

Waukesha County's Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for a talented Economic Support Specialist. Economic Support Specialists perform work determining eligibility for public assistance programs including FoodShare, Medical Assistance, BadgerCare, and Child Care. This work is performed through a call center environment in a multi-county consortium, requiring strong customer service skills to assist clients effectively, provide accurate information, and ensure a positive experience during interactions. Additionally, good written communication skills are essential for accurately documenting casework and corresponding with members. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of post high school work experience in financial counseling, analysis or planning; child support, paralegal work, economic assistance, independent research or investigation, counseling in a human service agency, interpreting and applying complex rules or regulations, or related work experience.
  • Post high school education from a recognized college or university may be substituted for the work experience on a year-for-year basis.
