About The Position

The Economic Justice Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the National Network to End Domestic Violence's Economic Justice team by managing the Independence Project, a micro-loan credit-building program. This position involves evaluating loan applications, assisting applicants, and ensuring accurate reporting to credit bureaus, while also collaborating on conference planning and providing direct support to survivor borrowers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in microfinance, domestic violence, sexual assault services, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with a nonprofit agency in a relevant area.
  • Experience with finance, loans, and/or credit reporting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), with strong grammar and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, high accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with financial software (e.g., Quicken, excel).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with diverse teams and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with finance, loans, and/or credit reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate micro-loan applications, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Communicate with advocates, local programs, and coalition staff, providing assistance to ensure applicants meet all requirements for the Independence Project.
  • Utilize loan management software, ensuring data is maintained and updated, and manage records of borrower interactions and transactions.
  • Schedule and process ACH repayments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Address loan non-compliance issues, maintain records of loan repayment, and report loan status to credit bureaus.
  • Collaborate with the Economic Justice & Microloans Specialist to support applicants throughout the loan process, providing guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and coordinate loan application approvals and denials with other team members, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
  • Oversee the disbursement of approved loans, following established policies and procedures.
  • Provide resources, referrals, and assistance to survivor borrowers regarding loan management.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including expense reporting, tracking spreadsheets, and maintaining internal documentation.
  • Support planning and logistics for NNEDV's Economic Justice National Conference, working with the team to ensure event success.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the NNEDV team, supporting cross-departmental initiatives and efforts.
