About The Position

The Economic Empowerment Advocate position at YWCA of Palm Beach County is designed to support victims of domestic violence by facilitating the economic justice project, Women Improving Their Tomorrow (WITT). The role focuses on providing employment and financial advocacy to participants across various YWCA programs, including those in Emergency Shelter and Rapid Rehousing. The advocate will implement services related to financial literacy, economic advocacy, and empowerment, while also building partnerships to promote the prevention of domestic violence and support economic advancement for participants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of case management experience, preferably with individuals impacted by homelessness or domestic violence.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in economic advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
• Familiarity with community resources and networking.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in achieving employment goals and securing affordable housing.
• Provide financial literacy education through the Allstate financial curriculum.
• Facilitate educational workshops for survivors and community members.
• Maintain accurate program participant files and case notes.
• Build partnerships with community agencies to enhance resource availability for participants.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and achieve at least 16 hours of training annually.
• Monitor data security and ensure consistent implementation of services.
• Conduct outreach to build new relationships with community providers.
• Ensure compliance with program standards and documentation requirements.
