About The Position

The Jewelry Associate is responsible for sorting, evaluating, and identifying all jewelry donations received at Goodwill. Utilizing knowledge of current trends, brands, materials, and market value, this role accurately categorizes and prepares items for sale on our eCommerce platform, ShopGoodwill.com/md. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, research skills, and sound judgment to ensure accurate listings and maximize sales potential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic jewelry knowledge required
  • Ability to complete tasks and assignments with numerous interruptions and little direct supervision
  • Must be highly collaborative and open to multiple perspectives
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the telephone
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions
  • Attention to detail and diligence to meet daily production goals
  • Commitment to team building and improvement processes

Responsibilities

  • Sort, evaluate, and test both precious and non-precious metals and gemstones using provided tools and equipment
  • Authenticate, research, and assess jewelry items to determine brand, designer, materials, and value
  • Create accurate, concise, and compelling product descriptions for online listings
  • Identify designers and maker’s marks through web-based research and industry resources
  • Meet or exceed established production and listing performance goals
  • Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards
  • Support and promote Goodwill’s mission, vision, and organizational values
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
