This role exists to grow and strengthen Nimbl’s ecommerce portfolio while being the technical anchor. You will lead at the industry level, shaping how we deliver ecommerce accounting, and helping drive revenue growth through clearer scope, stronger pricing, expanded services, and a higher-value client partnership. Over time, we expect the Industry Leader and embedded Strategic Finance components to grow as you help clients use their numbers to run better businesses. You will also be the technical anchor when the accounting gets messy and the stakes are high, including multi-channel revenue, batching payouts, chargebacks, refunds, gift cards, marketplace fees, wholesale complexity, and sales tax across multiple states. Many of our clients are hybrid (DTC plus wholesale) and may sell through Shopify plus marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, and Etsy. Some wholesale relationships (for example large retailers) come with limited reporting and longer pay cycles. You will help our Client Managers and Accounting Specialists produce consistently clean, client-ready financials, and you will also step into client conversations with confidence. You can connect accounting reality to business decisions, lead pricing and scope conversations, and guide clients toward additional Nimbl services when it improves outcomes and profitability. This role blends three leadership dimensions, with the majority of your time spent as the hands-on ecommerce Controller: Controller (about 75%): technical accounting quality, ecommerce reconciliations, onboarding, close reliability, team enablement, and building the templates and support schedules that make ecommerce accounting repeatable. Industry Leader (about 20%): build and maintain Nimbl’s ecommerce playbook, drive growth and profitability across our portfolio of ecommerce clients, support expansion within existing client relationships, and help establish Nimbl’s presence as an ecommerce accounting industry expert. Strategic Finance Lead (about 5%): deliver embedded strategic finance as part of the accounting engagement, partnering with our FP&A team, translating models into practical insights, and leading decision-focused discussions that help clients use the information to take action. This split will evolve over time as ecommerce client needs change and embedded strategic finance demand grows. If you are the kind of ecommerce accountant who built your own reconciliation templates because “there wasn’t a good one”, can teach others to use them, and enjoy getting in front of clients to turn clean financials into clearer scope, better decisions, and growth, you will feel at home here.
