Summary: The Ecological Consultant role is responsible for assessing, mitigating, and providing recommendations regarding the environmental impacts of engineering projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in ecological consulting or environmental field work
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
  • Proficient in Wetland delineation with demonstrable experience
  • Proficiency in GIS, GPS mapping, and ecological data collection
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys including habitat assessments, protected species surveys, and wetland delineations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret ecological and environmental data.
  • Prepare technical reports, biological assessments, and environmental permitting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State Environmental regulations (e.g., ESA, Clean Water Act, NEPA)
  • Coordinate with agencies such as the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Army Corps of Engineers, and State Environmental departments.
  • Support environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning.
  • Assist with environmental permitting processes for development or infrastructire projects.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and GIS/mapping documentation
  • Other duties may be assigned.
