About The Position

The E-Coat Line Worker is responsible for preparing, masking, processing, inspecting, and packaging metal parts for the electro-coating (E-Coat) process. This includes arranging parts on racking fixtures, plugging/masking as required, un-racking and inspecting coated parts, and final packaging for shipment. The role requires strict adherence to work instructions, documentation protocols, and quality standards. Employees in this position are empowered and expected to report any unusual or questionable conditions to management.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
  • Repetitive use of hands and arms; reaching and handling parts throughout shift.
  • Standing and walking required for most of the shift.
  • Capable of performing work at a rapid pace depending on production needs.
  • Good visual acuity and depth perception.
  • Language: Basic ability to read and understand simple instructions (Level 1).
  • Math: Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication of two-digit numbers).
  • Reasoning: Ability to follow simple one- to two-step instructions and apply common sense.
  • Good motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to remember specific setups for different product lines.
  • Comfortable with multitasking and varying work speeds.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (oral and written).
  • Must be physically and mentally capable of performing job duties, as verified by a licensed physician.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow Work Process Orders, Line Procedure Forms, and other documentation.
  • Properly rack and arrange products on fixtures for E-Coating.
  • Mask parts or plug holes prior to E-Coating as specified.
  • Un-rack, un-mask, inspect, and package parts after coating.
  • Complete documentation accurately, including Part Identification Tags and Packing Lists.
  • Ensure consistent quality and report any defects or process issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE (safety shoes and glasses).
  • Cross-train in other areas as needed based on production requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and provide feedback to management.
