About The Position

The ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist is a professional registered nurse/ certified or registered respiratory therapist who operates and maintains the ECMO Circuit for patients requiring extracorporeal support for long term pulmonary or cardiac support. The ECMO Specialist functions independently under the direction of the ECMO physician, following standing ECMO orders and guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or respiratory therapy. Appropriate diploma, associate/ ADN, bachelor/ BSN, or masters/ MSN degree in field.
• Minimum one year ICU or related experience
• Current RN or CRT/ RRT license in the State of Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.
