About The Position

Under the direction of the ECI Program Director, the Service Coordinator has the necessary authority to plan and provide services to eligible individuals of the ECI Program and travel within a 10 county area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Accept referrals for intervention services and conduct initial and subsequent enrollment activities in home and community settings. Assist parents of eligible children in identifying and gaining access to Early Intervention Services and other services identified in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Coordinate the provision of Early Intervention Services, as well as other services the child needs. Facilitate the timely delivery of available services. Continuously seek appropriate services and situations necessary to benefit the development of each child being served for the duration of the child’s eligibility. The ECI Service Coordinator must be able to lift, hold and play with young children and move in and out of sitting positions on the floor, as well as sit at a desk. Must also be able to operate a motor vehicle. The job requires extensive travel for service delivery and flexible hours and schedule. Telehealth practices may be employed as a strategy for service provision. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, which includes cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Reassignment is a condition of employment that may occur at the employer’s discretion. Work location and hours could change based on program needs.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in Social Work, Special Education, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing or a related human development field.
  • Must maintain applicable Texas certification/licensure, or if a new graduate, appropriate licensure must be obtained within six months of date of hire.
  • Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance.
  • Position may require use of personal vehicle in performance of job related duties and proof of PIP insurance.
  • Must pass and maintain all Center mandated trainings and complete all required initial ECI training before working directly with children and families.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, exchange of ideas, problem solving, etc.) to understand and be understood to perform the following duties with favorable effect in person, in writing, remotely and via telephone for consumers, staff, and community.
  • Strong organizational capabilities to ensure the efficient and timely processing of a consumer through the early intervention system of services.
  • Capacity to build rapport with consumers to assist in accessing community resources.
  • Capacity to lift, hold, and play with young children, and move into and out of sitting positions on the floor, as well as sit at a desk.
  • Literate and possess basic math skills.
  • Skilled in the use of personal and network computers, word processing, database, spreadsheet and office management software (Microsoft)
  • Visual acuity of 20/20, depth perception, and strong fine motor skills.
