Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015. The Echocardiology Technician performs diagnostic echocardiographic procedures in accordance with established scope of practice, professional standards, and physician orders. This role involves reviewing patient history, educating patients on procedures, preparing and operating imaging equipment, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation. The Echocardiology Technician monitors patient condition throughout the exam, administers contrast media or medications when ordered and within scope of practice, and responds appropriately to changes in patient status. Working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, this position requires strong critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality control, and accurate documentation. Reporting to the Director of Imaging Services, the Echocardiology Technician supports timely, safe, and effective cardiovascular diagnostic care. Requirements

  • Applicants should have Graduation/completion of a program in Ultrasound Sonography required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
  • Current Echo Registry Echo certification registered or registry eligible within one year of employment or transfer into position.
  • Must receive CVT or ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
