About The Position

Plans, develops, coordinates and implements orientation, continuing education, competency and training programs for all sonographers within the Echocardiology Department. In collaboration with Department Manager and Medical Director, ensures regulatory and ICAEL compliance during orientation. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • A minimum of six years of experience working as an Echocardiographer in a large academic medical center is required.
  • One of the following is required: 1. Completion of Bachelors degree unrelated to CAAHEP/CMA accredited program or a Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasonography, vascular technology or a minor in some aspect of ultrasound which is not CAAHEP accredited to offer echocardiology. 2. Graduate of a 2 year CAAHEP or CMA approved Cardiac Ultrasound Technology Program.
  • RDCS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International, (or completion of RDCS/RCS is required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
