About The Position

Participates in a variety of technical duties necessary to secure and process echocardiograms. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Performs and processes echocardiograms.
• Performs emergency echocardiograms, when necessary.
• Transports equipment to patient's bedside, as required.
• Assists in Transesophageal echocardiogram support in the OR; Cardiac Cath Lab; outpatient, or inpatient setting.
• Participates in call coverage for nights and weekend.
• Enters patient data, utilizing the electronic medical record for documentation.
• Assists in technical instruction of echocardiography, as necessary, for nurses, residents, fellows, nursing students, etc.
• Maintains current knowledge of echocardiography technology.
• Reviews current articles and attends conferences as required by the supervisor.
• Travels to staff outreach sites and performs echos and EKG's, as required.
