The Echocardiographer position, under the direction of the department Director and the Medical Director, Section of Cardiology, involves performing high-quality ultrasound images of the heart in accordance with International Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories and departmental policies. This role includes performing 2D echo Doppler studies, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms, while supporting Virtua Health's policies, mission, and vision.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience.
- Knowledge of Stress Echocardiography and Transesophageal Echocardiography procedures.
- Graduate of accredited echocardiography program.
- Echo techs must be credentialed through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of hire.
- BLS Certification
- Pediatric Echocardiography requires RDCS Pediatric credential or approval by interpreting pediatric cardiologists
Responsibilities
- Completes 2D echo Doppler studies, edits in digital system, and processes for physician interpretation.
- Completes stress echo and dobutamine stress echo studies, edits in digital system, and processes for physician interpretation.
- Completes transesophageal echocardiograms with the cardiologist, edits and processes for physician interpretation.
