Requirements

  • Registration in adult echocardiography or eligible (RDCS or RCS)
  • AHA or ARC BLS required.
  • Associate of science Minimum. Bachelor of Science preferred.
  • Consider prior training years' experience and continuing education in lieu of formal education.
  • Three years experience in echocardiography preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cardiac ultrasounds to include but not limited to M-Mode, 2-Dimensional, Doppler and Color Doppler studies.
  • Technician will be proficient in performing transesophageal and stress echocardiograms.
  • Studies will be performed on adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
  • The technician will have technical skill in studies as well as instrumentation, maintenance of equipment function and safety policy and procedures.
  • Additional duties include communication with physicians and other patient care providers regarding the patients testing, answering the phone, scheduling patients, documentation of care and maintenance of the patient medical records, charge entry and general cleaning of the work environment.
