About The Position

The Echocardiographer oversees and coordinates the performance of all Cardiology and Electroencephalographic procedures. The Echocardiographer shall work cooperatively with Physicians, Nursing Staff, Ancillary Staff, and other members of the patient care team to maintain established departmental and hospital standards of care. All services shall be carried out according to established departmental and hospital policies, the hospital’s mission statement, and the philosophy of the department’s code of ethics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.
  • One year ultrasound experience in echocardiograms.
  • Registered or registry eligible as a Cardiac Sonographer by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or The Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Course Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the performance of all Cardiology and Electroencephalographic procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with Physicians, Nursing Staff, Ancillary Staff, and other members of the patient care team.
  • Maintain established departmental and hospital standards of care.
  • Follow all policies and procedures set forth by the Cardiopulmonary Department and OakBend Medical Center.
  • Accept assigned responsibilities as an accountable member of the health care team.
  • Remain an active part of the on call team rotation for all procedures performed.
  • Complete any other hospital or department specific training courses as required.
