Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a full time Echocardiographer in Charlottesville, VA! Ideal candidates will have one year of experience. 10,000 Sign on Bonus available for qualified candidates. The noninvasive team at Sentara Martha Jefferson includes RN’s, Cardiovascular Technicians, and Sonographers seeing an average of 7 patients a day both inpatient and outpatient. The Echocardiographer must live within a 30-minute drive of the hospital for call purposes. The noninvasive Echocardiographer performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

  • Evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.
  • Complete the technologist report in the structured report application.
  • Manage complex cases in fast-paced environments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and providers.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
  • 1 year of experience in Echocardiography highly preferred.
  • Clinical experience in an acute setting.
  • Knowledge on performing measurements of heart structures.
  • Experience visualizing potentially critical findings.
