About The Position

Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. Per Diem/Variable Shift Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Requirements

  • Oregon Sonographer upon hire.
  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire or, National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree - Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • 1 year - Experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations or minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
  • Pediatric echocardiography experience.
  • Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
  • Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center).
