About The Position

Echocardiograph Technologist in Echo Unit at St Joseph Hospital Eureka. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour Day Shifts. Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echo Tech performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Requirements

  • Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.
  • National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire or, National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color doppler and stress testing conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon hire.
  • Experience as a hospital-based Sonographer.
