About The Position
St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a dedicated Echocardiogram Technologist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate health care to our community. The Echocardiogram Technologist will utilize state-of-the-art ultrasound technology to visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain critical measurements of cardiac valves, ventricles, and the left atrium, and assess blood flow. This role involves assisting physicians with complex ultrasound procedures and performing electrocardiograms as per established protocols. The technologist will also expand the scope of examinations based on any abnormalities observed during the procedures. In addition to technical skills, the Echocardiogram Technologist will be responsible for gathering patient information from various sources, including the patient, medical charts, and physicians. Selecting the appropriate transducer and machine settings for optimal imaging is essential, as is maintaining accurate records of all procedures performed. The technologist will send reports to the requesting physicians and archive the tapes and texts of patient examinations. Regular calibration of all equipment is also a key responsibility, ensuring that the technology used is always functioning at its best.
