The Echocardiogram Technologist performs routine and emergency Echocardiography and specialized Echocardiography, Trans esophageal Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms; Assists with non-invasive Cardiology testing, including: EKGs, other diagnostic procedures as needed, and explains the purpose of the procedure to the patient and if necessary, to the family, and performs all procedures in a timely manner. The Echo Tech must demonstrate knowledge of proper position of patient and be able to position patient to optimally visualize cardiac structures. Maintains the patient procedure log and reports statistics to the Manager/Director as needed. Informs physician(s) of significant abnormalities when necessary. Acts as the liaison to the Cardiologist to ensure that all tests are interpreted in a timely manner. Requirements

  • Bachelors/Associates that aligns with RDCS or RCS certification requirements
  • Current BLS (AHA)
  • Current RDCS by ARDMS required or RCS by CCI Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and emergency Echocardiography and specialized Echocardiography, Trans esophageal Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms
  • Assists with non-invasive Cardiology testing, including: EKGs, other diagnostic procedures as needed

  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper position of patient and be able to position patient to optimally visualize cardiac structures
