About The Position

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and compassionate Echocardiography Technician (Echo Tech) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of proficiency in performing both 2D and Doppler echocardiographic imaging across a diverse patient population, including infants, children, adults, and the elderly. This role is vital in helping physicians diagnose and treat heart conditions accurately and efficiently. As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for operating advanced ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of cardiac structures and blood flow. You will work collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure prompt, precise diagnostic results. A strong sense of empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain patient comfort during procedures are essential to succeed in this position. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly impact patient care and treatment outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least one year hospital acute care experience
  • ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI required
  • Proof of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) if applicable
  • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Current Annual Health Clearance
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers
  • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
  • Flexible schedule due to nature of shift
  • Reliable source of transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric and neonatal experience preferred, not required
  • Experience with TEEs and bubble studies preferred, not required
  • Experience with Definity preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Echo Techs must be able to perform high-quality echocardiograms, including 2D and Doppler ultrasound procedures, on patients of all ages.
  • Obtain accurate and clear images for interpretation by cardiologists.
  • Echo techs should be able to explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results.
  • Maintain equipment, perform regular calibration, and report any technical issues.
  • Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols.
  • Echo Techs accurately document and input patient information into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Ensure adherence to CA DPH regulations and hospital policies, maintaining licensures and training.
