SUMMARY OF JOB Echo Technologist is responsible for the completion of Adult Echocardiograms; knowledge of and ability to perform Adult Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast and Saline Contrast studies, performing Exercise Stress Echocardiograms and/or Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms; assisting Cardiologists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms; accurately acquiring and storing studies in the Cardiology reading system and performing electrocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients when needed.
Requirements
- High School graduate.
- Certification of completion from an AMA approved cardiology training program and documented experience performing non-invasive diagnostic cardiology procedures.
- Associates Degree preferred; but not a requirement.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and/or Registered Cardiac Sonographer preferred through ARDMS and/or CCI - or - Registry eligible and attain registration certification within 1 year of hire
- Documented training in Echocardiography and at least one year experience performing Echocardiogram studies.
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to work various shifts and/or on-call hours when required.
- Current CPR certification
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and/or Registered Cardiac Sonographer preferred through ARDMS and/or CCI or registry eligible
