About The Position

What You’ll Do Performs ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of the heart and related structures, using ultrasound equipment, for use by a physician in diagnosis of heart disease and study of the heart. Performs echocardiograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies cardiologists of results of examinations. Consults with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates actively in Performance Improvement, Radiation Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Radiological Patient and Physician Education, Continuous Quality Improvement, and other various committees as assigned. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Credentialed in echocardiography from ARDMS, CCI ARRT (S) required.
  • Must have current American Heart Association BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited Echocardiography Program preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 year of professional echocardiography experience in a hospital patient care setting preferred.
