About The Position

The Echocardiographer position at HCA Florida Capital Hospital involves obtaining diagnostic ultrasound images in Echocardiography and assisting physicians during procedures. The role requires proficiency in ultrasound techniques and the ability to prioritize patient flow while maintaining effective safety practices and professional relationships with staff and medical personnel.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Certificate from a nationally recognized school for Echocardiography.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist certification through ARDMS or RVS through CCI within one year of hire date.
  • Knowledge of the cardiovascular system and EKG arrhythmias.
  • Flexibility with work situations and basic clerical skills.
  • Ability to recognize abnormalities and convey findings to physicians.
  • Proficient in sonographic techniques to produce accurate physiologic information.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain diagnostic ultrasound images in Echocardiography, External Carotid, and Internal Cranial arteries.
  • Assist the physician with obtaining images during Transesophageal Echo's.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound and sonography techniques and equipment.
  • Prioritize and organize patient flow to ensure optimal utilization of time.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport and professional relationships with fellow employees, other departments, and Medical Staff.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing related or licensed functions.
