About The Position

As an Echocardiographer at Novant Health, you will perform echocardiography studies and stress ECHOs, recognizing, calculating, interpreting, and analyzing the hemodynamic data derived from these studies. This role is part of a department recognized for its excellence in surgical care and patient outcomes, particularly in heart and stroke care. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree preferred; Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree accepted.
  • Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs preferred.
  • Two years of echocardiography experience preferred.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS preferred.

  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age.
  • Ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)' requirements for care relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff.
