The Pediatric Echo Tech is responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms on children of all ages. This role includes writing thorough preliminary reports on all findings from the studies and performing correct measurements where indicated. The technician must be able to image a wide range of congenital heart diseases, from non-complex to complex cases. A strong understanding of cardiac morphology, physiology, and various surgical repairs used in pediatric cardiology is essential. The technician will assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms and maintain the necessary equipment for these tests. Additionally, logging patient information into the data system and completing necessary billing work is part of the responsibilities.
