About The Position

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all cardiovascular exams at technical level not requiring direct supervision. ### #Echo experience required, 3 years preferred# ### #Vascular experience preferred but not required# ### #Must be able to follow directions, communicate with other team members and be flexible in scheduling and assignments ### #Provide excellent service to all patients ### #Completion of an Accredited Sonography program # ARDMS or CCI certified or eligible# BLS required Address patient's concerns/complaints the same day as evidenced by patient feedback Comply with standard infection precaution Demonstrates competency and proficiency guidance: Performing all required US examination Positioning the patient and the equipment Selecting appropriate US techniques Selecting correct filming sequences Familiar with the TEE probe and studies Selects the correct transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field and other specifications of test Identifies each patient and reviews each patient's requisition either hard copy or I computer system for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information Records pertinent data on ultrasound requisitions at all times Produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs, using ultrasound equipment Assures patient education sheets are signed and documented Maintains control logs Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to appropriate radiologist/cardiologist Communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure. Provides preliminary findings to the requesting physician Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images Ability to prioritize cases according to severity Coordinates ultrasound examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assists with management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments Reports all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other hospital employees to appropriate supervisor Transporter responsibilities as required Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence
