About The Position

The Early Childhood Education Center Teacher's Assistant (ECECTA) will provide extra assistance to plan, implement and assess the long term success of the ECEC children. The Teacher's Assistant will utilize the curriculum collaboratively as a foundation for lesson planning and assure there is healthy and safe environment for the children and families served. The Teacher's Assistant will engage in positive and professional parent/child/staff relationships. This position is required to will keep records and complete reports which ensure the standards of excellence are maintained. They will participate and maintain professional development and attend staff training. Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent.
  • Have an Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or comparable.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year on-the-job training in providing a nurturing indoor/outdoor environment.
  • One year (plus) of experience under qualified supervision working as a teacher serving the ages and developmental abilities of the children in care.
  • Possess a valid certificate in pediatric first aid, including CPR.
  • Thorough knowledge of normal child development and early childhood education.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to children's needs and recognize signs of illness and safety/injury hazards.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse.
  • Meet the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and emotional maturity.
