The ECE Shared Discovery Administrator / Curriculum Coordinator at Michigan State University plays a crucial role in supporting the Shared Discovery Curriculum within the College of Human Medicine. This position involves managing various aspects of the external clinical experience, providing assistance to students and faculty, and ensuring the effective delivery of the curriculum through organization, communication, and problem-solving.   • Organize and arrange course materials for students using technological resources.
  • Utilize computer applications to deliver on-site assessments during educational experiences.
  • Reserve and prepare classrooms, laboratories, and lecture halls based on teaching calendar requirements.
  • Ensure the centralized repository for curriculum information is complete and current.
  • Develop and maintain information gathering systems to monitor and report on curriculum-related data.
  • Manage evaluations for faculty and educational experiences to ensure curriculum effectiveness.
  • Communicate concerns and prepare reports for faculty preceptors to foster continuous improvement.
  • Assist with coordination and administration of workshops and special events.
  • Act as primary contact for clinic administrators regarding student participation in clinical shifts.
  • Negotiate student rotation schedules with external clinical partners.
  • Communicate student schedules and troubleshoot issues that arise during rotations.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for student questions and urgent concerns.
  • Track attendance and facilitate additional clinical shifts as needed.
  • Develop supplemental tools for students for clinical shifts.
  • Interface with faculty to create complex schedules and log teaching hours.
  • Proctor National Board exams and ensure their security.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of curriculum in the area of employment.
  • Six months to one year of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience editing and composing documents and correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to interpret information.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
