Under general supervision, the ECE Community Trainer will develop, schedule, coordinate, and conduct grant-specific training for the Resource & Referral (WFD) division at CCRC offices, as well as locations throughout Los Angeles or San Bernardino County. Training will focus on parent education, child development, professional development for Early Childhood Educators, and/or health and safety for Early Learning programs. The ECE Community Trainer will independently work to develop appropriate training materials, coordinate all components of training and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners. This position is full time, 40 hours per week. This position will require the ability to work a non-traditional work schedule including evenings and weekends. This position’s work environment will consist of remote work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in the field of Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Education, Health Sciences, Sociology or related field may be required (depending on grant contract assignment of position).
  • Two years’ experience in the field of Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
  • Two years’ experience conducting trainings, presentations, or group meetings.
  • Intermediate proficiency level using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and video conferencing tools including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Basic proficiency using an online learning platform.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues during in-person and virtual trainings.
  • Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and DMV clearance required for staff members driving on behalf of CCRC.
  • Background check required.
  • Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting (for positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting).
  • Health Clearance (for positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with “at risk” populations).
  • MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC’s liability insurance provisions (for positions where driving is required).
  • Child Development Permit (for positions working in an educational capacity).
  • CPR / Pediatric CPR certification (for certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting).
  • Federal Debarment Checks (for positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds).
  • Credit & Bankruptcy Check (for positions with fiscal responsibility).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate trainings for parents, the community, and agency staff at CCRC offices and throughout the CCRC service area, on topics related to Child & Family Development, Child Care, Early Childhood Education and/or Health and Safety.
  • Maintain knowledge of and familiarity with trainings and resources offered in parent institutes and the community.
  • Work to enhance existing training activities and create new trainings by building relationships and partnerships with clients and external training presenters.
  • Assess, recommend, and implement ongoing improvement for procedures and processes, and training curriculums.
  • Adjust delivery methods and/or content of curriculums as needed to meet participant requirements.
  • Collaborate with the ECE Outreach Specialist to support dissemination of marketing materials to advertise CCRC trainings to appropriate markets utilizing a variety of methods (e.g., email, in-person meetings, mailings, etc.).
  • Assist program participants by providing information and appropriate referrals to other CCRC departments, outside agencies, and other community resources to support family needs.
  • Maintain a system of confidentiality for data, records, and information at all times.
  • Track, collect and process registration fees of training attendees and monitor registrations.
  • Process certifications of training attendees to vendor, if applicable.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports, and program tracking forms, to supervisor/manager.
