About The Position

JOB TITLE: ECC Behavior Coach DEPARTMENT: Assigned Site REPORTS TO: Principal FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time, 9 months ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: these statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required. 1.Manages interfering student behavior by implementing positive behavioral management strategies designed to promote positive social student engagement 2.Foster positive school climate by supporting school wide programs and activities 3.Assist students in crisis. 4.Assist with providing supervision and other behavior needs as directed by principal ESSENTIAL BEHAVIOR: Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork; ability to use sound judgment in any situation; ability to receive and appropriately respond to directions from teacher/supervisor; able to deal successfully with changes in assigned job and to properly respond to complaints; able to work cooperatively with district employees and the public while achieving the objectives of the job; ability to maintain student confidentiality; demonstrates safe hygienic practices. Able to respond quickly and decisively in crisis situation. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Inside working conditions with minimal exposure to extreme environmental conditions. PHYSICAL STANDARDS: •Sitting at a desk for extended periods •Talking and hearing in order to communicate with other employees and public on the phone and in person concerning job-related duties •Manual dexterity required to operate a keyboard with proficiency, calculator, telephone, and other office equipment •Ability to lift and manipulate objects such as file boxes of up to 40 lbs. to waist height •Walking as required to access equipment and perform responsibilities •Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending •Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) ECC Behavior Coach Updated March 2024 BROKEN ARROW PUBLIC SCHOOLS Primarily inside working conditions with minimal exposure to extreme environmental conditions. Some outside duty assignments required with exposure to pollen, heat, cold, wind, humidity or other weather conditions. Risk of exposure to bodily fluids. Exposure to aggressive and combative behavior of students. PHYSICAL STANDARDS: •Walking as required to perform responsibilities and care for students •Sitting as required to perform responsibilities and monitor students •Standing as required to perform responsibilities and monitor students •Use of hands and arms for lifting/positioning students and manipulating adaptive equipment as required for student disabilities •Bending/stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, crawling as necessary to care for students •Continuous lifting of up to 24 lbs; frequent lifting of 25-74 lbs; occasional lifting with assistance of up to 100 lbs •Ability to react quickly with no advance warning to secure student safety, including running/chasing student and/or to control student behavior •Talking and hearing as to communicate concerning job-related duties as assigned •Smell •Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) with or without correction •Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) with or without correction •Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors) •Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus •Simple and firm grasping, left and right hands •Fine manipulating, left and right hands ECC Behavior Coach Updated March 2024

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 6 Months working with children preferred
  • Must be able to successfully complete CPR, First Aid and all components of MANDT training provided by BAPS on hire.
  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Ability to use sound judgment in any situation
  • Ability to receive and appropriately respond to directions from teacher/supervisor
  • Able to deal successfully with changes in assigned job and to properly respond to complaints
  • Able to work cooperatively with district employees and the public while achieving the objectives of the job
  • Ability to maintain student confidentiality
