Test Equipment and Environments Team at Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join our team as an Electrical Computer Aided Designer (eCAD) Engineer . This position is 100% ONSITE in Tucson, AZ What You Will Do In this role, you will work closely with circuit design engineers and engineers of all disciplines and backgrounds to implement, draw and/or layout printed wiring boards using various electrical and mechanical tools, such as Mentor Xpedition and BluePrint for the drawing documentation. Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation Utilize software such as Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies: BluePrint-PCB Design layouts include Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies Work designs include full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside of discipline Daily interface with various engineering levels and engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering to ensure overall design requirements are captured for cost, cycle time, and producibility

  • Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing
  • Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers
  • Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation
  • Utilize software such as Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies: BluePrint-PCB
  • Design layouts include Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies
  • Work designs include full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside of discipline
  • Daily interface with various engineering levels and engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering to ensure overall design requirements are captured for cost, cycle time, and producibility
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Typically requires experience with at least one (1) of the following: Experience with PCB or CCA manufacturing principles that affect circuitry and component layout Experience with layout of Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards Experience with the electrical engineering design process
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) experience
  • Technical PCB design skills using Siemens design toolset including Xpedition Layout tool suite
  • Experience with BluePrint to create complex PCB and CCA drawings (Altium is not used , but transfers over well to the Siemens toolset
  • Experience with schematic capture, placement, routing, use of the auto-router, constraint manager, and library tools
  • Export manufacturing data in both Gerber and ODB++ formats
  • Use of Valor NPI , Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rule sets, or other Design Rule Checking software
  • Experience with RF circuitry including board layout and filter knowledge
  • This position offers relocation.
