We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and student-centered Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher to deliver high-quality special education instruction and support to scholars with disabilities. In this role, you will collaborate with school leaders, service providers, and families to ensure every scholar receives the individualized support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid state special education certification (or eligibility)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching scholars with disabilities
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance requirements
  • Commitment to Movement Schools’ mission and values

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in charter or mission-driven schools is a plus.
  • Experience in a charter or mission-driven school environment
  • Familiarity with inclusive/co-teaching models and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to scholars with disabilities in alignment with their IEP goals
  • Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet individual learner needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices
  • Monitor scholar progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions
  • Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Support scholars’ social-emotional growth and positive behavior development
  • Communicate regularly with families to share progress, celebrate growth, and build partnership
  • Collaborate with service providers and school leadership to ensure cohesive support
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and state regulations
