EC Instructional Assistant
About The Position
Under general supervision, the EC Teacher Assistant performs a variety of technical and clerical tasks to support the teacher in providing direct and indirect services to students with disabilities. The employee provides one-on-one assistance with academic and behavioral needs and may lead small-group instructional activities. Additional responsibilities include assisting the teacher with general housekeeping and clerical duties. The role of the EC Teacher Assistant is to reinforce classroom instruction and support student learning. This may involve reviewing lessons with students individually, answering questions, and assisting with or grading assignments. The teacher assistant may also be responsible for supervising students outside of the classroom, including on the playground, during bathroom breaks, at lunch, and during field trips.
