About The Position

The position is for a Behavior Support Specialist within the Exceptional Children's Department. This role is essential in providing support and interventions for students with exceptional needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate educational services and behavioral support. The specialist will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective behavior management strategies.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid teaching license in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with behavioral challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide training and support to staff on behavior management techniques.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student behavior and progress.
