About The Position

The EBI Database Developer II at Cleveland Clinic is responsible for supporting the overall database needs of the enterprise. This role involves the development, maintenance, and enhancement of databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting, utilizing technologies such as MS SQL and Teradata. The developer will work collaboratively within a team to deliver database analytics and web-based applications, while also managing multiple projects and ensuring optimal database performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years of database development experience (e.g., MS SQL and/or Teradata) or C# and/or ASP.NET experience required.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) preferred.
  • Teradata Database Certified Associate (TDCA) preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of current technologies and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience with an emphasis on coding that scales well and is optimized for use in a high volume environment preferred.
  • Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture preferred.
  • Experience in Informatica Power Center a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Works in a team of database developers, software developers, and business analysts.
  • Delivers database analytics and web-based applications.
  • Administers existing databases and analyzes, designs, and creates new databases.
  • Performs data modeling, database optimization, and implements schemas.
  • Proactively monitors systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints.
  • Designs, implements, and supports ETL processes.
  • Establishes database development standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Handles multiple projects while supporting existing production databases and processes.
  • Performs support, development, and administrative activities as required.
  • Provides periodic on-call duty to support department 7x24x365 applications.
