About The Position

The Eaton Internship - Product Engineering is designed to provide opportunities to a diverse mix of interns who demonstrate the same high level of ethics, values, creativity, and performance we expect from our employees. During the duration of the assignment, participants will work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business and will be coached and mentored by Eaton leaders. Summer internships as well as Spring and Fall co-ops are available. This internship provides individuals with great exposure to Eaton and would prepare them for a potential opportunity to be considered for one of Eaton's full time Early Talent opportunities including our Applications Engineering Development Program or a Product Engineer role upon graduation. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this role ranges from $20.77 - $25.96 per hour.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled or received a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from accredited institution.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
  • Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively enrolled in an electrical engineering program.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Completion of sophomore year by the start of the application.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team to develop test fixtures for verifying performance of various elements of Switchgear and Motor Control assemblies.
  • Work with lead engineers on design principles such as defining requirements, contributing to definition of hardware design, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.
  • Document and organize standards for control schematics along with other collateral utilized to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Improve productivity of the application engineering function through testing and implementation of engineering systems.
