East pre-op/PACU Patient Care Technician
About The Position
When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. The PCT collaborates with the pre-op/PACU nursing team to provide quality patient care. This diverse staff cares for both pre and post-surgical patients. The PACU is established, equipped and operated primarily for the purpose of recovering both inpatients and outpatients from anesthesia while managing both medical and surgical clinical needs. The RN provides total patient care along with assistance from the PCT. There are two Holding Areas and two PACU's--it is a fast-paced environment, expectation is to float from one PACU to another in a given day to accommodate the unit’s needs. At present hours of operation Monday-Friday 0600-2330. With RN coverage on-call nights/weekends/holidays.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
- Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
- Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
