About The Position

The East Coast Technician Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, coordination, development, and operational support of Medical Gas Technicians (Tech I–III) across the East Coast sub-region. This role reports directly to the East Coast Regional Manager and serves as the primary field execution leader responsible for daily alignment, technical guidance, service readiness, and technician development. This is a working supervisory position structured to balance hands-on field work with leadership, coordination, and operational oversight. The role is designed for approximately three days per week performing field work and two days per week dedicated to leadership responsibilities, including daily alignment, scheduling coordination, coaching, and performance oversight. The Technician Supervisor leads a 5-minute daily morning huddle every day, with a longer Friday huddle focused on weekly performance, wins, misses, safety observations, and upcoming priorities. The Supervisor works closely with the Scheduling Coordinator and Regional Manager to ensure priority accounts are supported and that work is executed consistently and without gaps. This role supports technician onboarding, skill development, and certification readiness as part of the company’s broader training efforts. Specific training expectations and responsibilities are defined separately and may evolve over time based on business needs. The Technician Supervisor participates in a rotating East/West Coast on-call schedule and provides after-hours technical escalation support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ASSE 6040 Certification – Required
  • Five or more years of medical gas field experience, including inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading technicians
  • Strong technical knowledge of medical gas systems including source equipment, alarms, valves, medical air, vacuum systems, outlets, and inlets
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage both field execution and leadership responsibilities effectively
  • Proficient with computers and basic office software
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and support Medical Gas Technicians (Tech I–III).
  • Lead a daily 5-minute technician huddle focused on technician KPIs, scheduling alignment, job completion, priority work, and issues from the prior day.
  • Lead a longer Friday huddle to review weekly performance, wins, misses, recurring issues, and upcoming risks.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance, and field leadership.
  • Support technician progression through Tech I, Tech II, and Tech III development paths.
  • Conduct ride-alongs, job audits, and skills assessments.
  • Participate in technician performance reviews by providing documented input and recommendations, in coordination with the Regional Manager.
  • Maintain a recurring check-in with the Regional Manager to review East Coast sub-region performance, including KPIs, schedule execution, capacity, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with the Regional Manager in the co-management of technicians.
  • Responsible for excellent customer service in the region.
  • Perform hands-on field work approximately three days per week to maintain technical proficiency and field credibility.
  • Support complex inspections, service work, troubleshooting, and emergency response as needed.
  • Serve as a technical escalation resource for technicians during normal and after-hours operations.
  • Dedicate approximately two days per week to leadership responsibilities, including coordination, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Use leadership days to proactively identify risks, address gaps, and prevent missed work or after-hours escalations.
  • Provide field support while prioritizing leadership responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Coordinator to identify priority accounts and time-sensitive work.
  • Proactively identify and communicate technician PTO, availability, fatigue, and coverage risks.
  • Flag scheduling gaps or conflicts to the Scheduling Coordinator and Regional Manager.
  • Serve as the final daily checkpoint to ensure field readiness before technicians deploy.
  • Provide field insight to support schedule adjustments without owning final scheduling decisions.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex medical gas systems, with support from the National Technical Support Manager.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with NFPA 99 Chapter 5, AHJ requirements, and company standards.
  • Review technician documentation and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain, reinforce, and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Reinforce OSHA requirements and safe work practices.
  • Address safety concerns, incidents, and near-misses promptly.
  • Act as a technical escalation resource for field-related service issues.
  • Support customer communication and issue resolution in partnership with the Regional Manager.
  • Assist with complex service situations as needed.
  • Participate in a rotating East/West Coast on-call schedule, alternating weeks with peer Supervisors.
  • Provide after-hours technical guidance and escalation support across regions.
  • Travel within the East Coast region and neighboring states as required to support field operations and technician oversight
  • Occasional travel to other regions as needed for operational support
