About The Position

Plan, direct, and coordinate Bellevue’s Early Support Motor department. Collaborate with other managers, Leadership Team, and Bellevue Senior Early Support Manager to develop and maintain quality early support services to children and their families. Oversee the development, coordination, and implementation of speech-language and motor programs at Kindering Bellevue. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Manage the Early Support speech-language and motor department(s) in the Bellevue campus and collaborate across campuses to maintain consistency and collaboration of programs Hire, lead and supervise Bellevue Early Support Motor teams to provide high-quality culturally-sensitive therapy services to infants and children and their families Monitor training of new staff in coordination with HR and knowledge transfer team Evaluate new staff (30-60-90 day reviews) and obtain input from clinical mentors and knowledge transfer team as applicable Monitor staff performance and development including but not limited to: annual performance reviews, setting employee goals and objectives, and provide opportunities for employee growth Supervise department quality and performance – track and manage parent and staff complaints; understand staff morale; create, measure, and report department objectives aligned with Kindering’s mission and goals Provide support as needed around care planning for complex or challenging situations in a culturally-sensitive, inclusive way Ensure staff comply with Part C of IDEA, King County and Snohomish County DDA, and ESIT Participate in program planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency Ensure appropriate department coverage for agency needs Organize and manage department staff meetings; communicate to department regarding specific items as well as agency policies, direction, mission, and vision Delegate work duties to staff; coordinate with placement coordinator to assign children to caseloads Coordinate department budget activities for maximum operational efficiency Participate on Kindering’s Leadership Team; communicate and collaborate with Senior Bellevue Early Support Manager and other program managers across campuses Serve as the “go-to person” for departmental issues and needs both from within and between departments Fill in for absences in classrooms or evaluations as needed Complete other duties as assigned by the Senior Bellevue Early Support Manager Provide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or related field
  • Meets the minimum requirements per ESIT program (Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers) to provide direct early intervention services to children, including licensure by Washington State Department of Health
  • A fundamental understanding of current issues and challenges facing individuals from underserved communities including sensitivity to racial equity/diversity
  • Strong relationship skills to communicate and work within a healing-centered inclusive work culture that captures the power of a culturally diverse work environment and community
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
  • Possess valid Washington State driver’s license and valid automobile insurance
  • Have access to a dependable personal vehicle
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds (average three-year-old)
  • Pass tuberculosis test
  • Have current first aid and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical supervision experience preferred
  • Computer software skills (excel, word, outlook) and ability to navigate and perform necessary computer functions to perform job duties
