About The Position

The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in culinary arts, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. The role requires open availability, as shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen. Previous experience working in a hotel environment is preferred.
  • Certification: Food handler’s certification or equivalent is required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods. Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Availability: Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to accommodate the hotel’s operational needs.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: More than 1 year of experience in a hotel or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Certification: Additional culinary certifications or training in advanced cooking techniques.
  • Creativity: A flair for creativity in menu planning and dish presentation.
  • Multitasking: Strong multitasking abilities to manage various cooking tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, in accordance with the hotel’s recipes and standards.
  • Menu Execution: Ensure dishes are presented attractively and meet the hotel's quality standards, including taste, texture, and temperature.
  • Kitchen Operations: Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen, including proper food storage, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible with tasks and schedules to meet the needs of the kitchen and hotel operations.
