About The Position

This position is focused on math tutoring for TK - 2nd grade students. The Early Literacy Reading Tutor will assist in developing and improving early literacy skills through research-based strategies and collaboration with classroom staff. The role involves providing intentional, data-driven literacy instruction and intervention, assessing student progress, and participating in ongoing training and coaching sessions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Strong interest in education, specifically in helping children develop early language and literacy skills.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Computer skills, including the ability to navigate online database systems and email.
• Must be 18 years old or older.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework, college degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting.
• Ability to attend the 4-day TK SEEDS of Early Learning training and/or SIPPS Training.

Responsibilities

• Attend SEEDS of Early Literacy Training and ongoing Early Literacy Tutor trainings throughout the year.
• Provide intentional, data-driven literacy instruction and intervention during all parts of the day.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher Coach and/or Principal to set the instructional schedule and report student progress.
• Implement research-based targeted interventions daily with students.
• Assess child outcomes and progress using benchmark assessments and ongoing progress monitoring.
• Use scripted early literacy interventions in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Participate in literacy coaching sessions to review student progress and set goals.
• Record student and program data accurately in an online database or Excel document.
• Participate in site-sponsored trainings and meetings.
• Provide reading instruction for TK - 2nd grade classrooms as assigned.
