About The Position

We are seeking an Early Literacy Program Analyst (Program Analyst 3) to join our Office of Indian Education team at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a permanent position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence will be required when business or operational needs are best supported in person, such as collaboration, training, or work that requires access to onsite resources. Employees approved to work remotely must have a reliable and secure internet connection and maintain a professional work environment that supports productivity. While working remotely, employees are expected to maintain the same level of performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability as they would in the office. This position serves as an integral member of the Office of Indian Education. The primary focus of the role is to develop, expand, evaluate, and update the Early Literacy Success Tribal Grant Program, which supports objectives outlined in the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Student Success Plan to implement the Governor’s Early Literacy Success Initiative. Through this work, the position helps build the capacity of federally recognized Tribes to improve early literacy outcomes for students within tribal communities across Oregon. This position will interact with the nine federally recognized tribal governments in Oregon, state contacts, district leaders, schools, parents, representatives at the state and federal level including partner agencies, the Educator Advancement Council, schools, grant recipients, and others. Opportunity to support statewide student success priorities and contribute to high-impact initiatives in early literacy and Tribal languages. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years experience coordinating or administering a program OR; Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.

Responsibilities

  • Track, manage, and monitor multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Prioritize and facilitate communication and coordination across partners, including Tribal entities, districts, and internal teams
  • Prepare materials, briefs, and other content for meetings, consultation, and leadership updates
