About The Position

The Early Learner Teacher Assistant position at Kumon of Durham University involves supporting young children aged 3 to 7 in their learning journey through the Kumon Method. Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification license (preferred).
• Valid Child Development Associate Certification (preferred).
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently with one or two younger or new Kumon students at a time to provide instruction using the Kumon Method and worksheets.
• Ensure proper study habits and work skills are being developed and train students in center routine.
• Individualize strategies for student development based on student goals and communication with the Instructor.
• Work closely with the Instructor to develop and understand lesson plans and goals for each student.
• Grade student classwork, homework, and corrections using the Kumon Answer book and Kumon Method.
• Ensure student classwork is completed and corrected to 100%.
• Assess oral reading ability with reading students and provide necessary feedback.
• Provide assistance and guidance to students as needed, adhering to Kumon Method standards and center procedures.
• Provide the Instructor with written or verbal feedback based on student observations and performance.
