About The Position

The Early Interventionist provides specialized developmental intervention and monitoring to children, ages 0 to 3 (0-5 in Lakeport), who have an identified developmental delay or may be at risk of delay. The Early Interventionist works closely with families, care providers and members of the Regional Centers’ interdisciplinary teams to monitor and enable children’s development. The Early Interventionist is charged with creating a rich learning environment in which the child can make progress, meet treatment goals, and maximize learning potential. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide effective early intervention services in an inclusive and innovative manner that supports families and clients Set and monitor client goals and evaluate clients’ developmental progress Meet or exceed EI individual billed hours and productivity targets Adhere to clinical practice and documentation standards Collaborate with FoC shared services departments to ensure successful delivery of services Adhere to the FoC network structure organizational protocols Ensure compliance, regulatory, and funder requirements are met Follow the Easterseals EI programs business operating system Complete additional job duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to: Associate degree required in one of the following disciplines: child development, special education, early childhood special education, social work, or related field; or AA Degree + 12 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE). At least 2 years of experience working with children who have been identified as having a developmental delay required. Experience working with a wide range of children and families from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Cantonese speaking highly desired. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population. Able to engage children and families, and work with very active children on the floor Able to work in a team-oriented setting and collaborates with peers/leadership. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bi-lingual ability preferred. Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment. Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations of Easterseals. Knowledgeable and skilled in computer software. Committed to the values of the while demonstrating professional judgment, flexibility, patience, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. Physical Requirements: Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting to observe, assess, and interact with clients. Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to and including 6-8 hours a day. Ability to sit for extended periods of time up to and including 6-8 hours a day. Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to clients, staff, and others in the workplace. Frequent driving (to and from office and client homes) Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously. Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading up to and including 25lbs to 50lbs. Ability to physically implement behavior management strategies including responding to physically aggressive behavior. Ability to utilize computer and iPhone. Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position. Ability to travel to multiple work sites and client homes; reliable transportation needed. Must have a valid California Driver’s License with Insurance and maintain a clean driving record. Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations, and clear TB testing based on company policies. Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification. Ability to obtain and maintain National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. Must attend any required training.
