About The Position

The Early Interventionist role focuses on providing early intensive interventions for children with developmental delays and disabilities. This position involves family training and service coordination to help families access necessary services and resources tailored to their child's individual needs. The Early Interventionist assesses family and child strengths, participates in multidisciplinary assessments, and coordinates intervention plans to support child development and family advocacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Child/Human Development, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Family and Consumer Sciences, or an approved related field.
• Reliable, fully insured transportation for travel to homes and community locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide early intensive interventions for children with developmental delays and disabilities.
• Conduct family training and service coordination to help families obtain necessary services.
• Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and select appropriate assessment instruments.
• Interpret and report test results, completing assessment reports as required.
• Function as coordinator for the assessment team.
• Act as service coordinator for families by scheduling and developing intervention plans.
• Monitor and evaluate the intervention plan for each family on caseload.
• Provide families with information on current trends and practices related to their child's needs.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child development.
• Encourage parents to participate in a normal lifestyle by developing family strengths and resources.
• Assist families in advocating for their child.
• Complete reports, routine documentation, and management procedures as required.
