About The Position

The Early Intervention Specialist at Kennedy-Donovan Center (KDC) plays a crucial role in providing family-centered services to support children aged 0-3 years and their families. This position involves collaborating with a team of pediatric specialists to address the individual needs of children through education, training, and support, ensuring that every child can thrive regardless of their circumstances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in fields such as Early Intervention, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Special Education, or Psychology.
  • 300+ hours of experience with children under the age of 5 years.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with families to identify each child's strengths and developmental needs.
  • Develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in collaboration with families.
  • Work closely with a transdisciplinary team on program planning and delivery of services.
  • Oversee case management and referral services for assigned caseload.
  • Conduct home visits to provide developmental stimulation, parent training, and support.
  • Facilitate parent/child and/or child groups.
  • Complete reports of assessments, progress reports, IFSPs, and discharge summaries.
  • Maintain communication with physicians, clinics, and community agencies involved in each child's care.
  • Provide information to parents to help them make informed decisions regarding their child's progress.
