About The Position

The Early Intervention Specialist coordinates and reviews local Early Intervention (EI) programs for eligible children from birth to age 3. This role involves processing evaluations, assessments, service coordination, and ensuring timely service delivery while adhering to procedural safeguards and Ohio Early Intervention guidance. The specialist provides technical assistance and training to EI providers, ensuring compliance with federal laws and evidence-based practices.

Requirements

• Possession of Developmental Specialist Certification or equivalent certification.
• 3 or more years of experience delivering special instruction to eligible families, infants, and toddlers under IDEA Part C.
• Possession of a current Ohio license and 3 or more years of experience delivering early intervention services.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with evidence-based practices in early intervention.
• Familiarity with the Early Intervention Data System (EIDS).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review local Early Intervention programs for eligible children.
• Process evaluations, assessments, and service coordination for timely service delivery.
• Provide technical assistance and training to EI providers in service coordination and delivery.
• Ensure EI service delivery aligns with federal laws and Ohio regulations.
• Collect and analyze data on EI service provider skills and training needs.
• Collaborate with the EI monitoring team on compliance and due process investigations.
• Support the development of Ohio's Part C EI rules and guidance documents.
• Communicate effectively with state and county staff, EI providers, and constituents.
• Maintain documentation and trend analysis for internal and external reporting.
• Represent the agency on special task forces and projects as assigned.
