About The Position

The Early Intervention Service Coordinator position provides direct service coordination for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program and serve as a member the evaluation team that conducts child and family assessments for children 0-3 years to determine eligibility for the Infant-Toddler Program. In addition to assisting with determining eligibility for services, duties will include working with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families’ needs for supports and services, conducting home visits, and working with families to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), Services provided through the NC ITP must be compliant with the IDEA, federal regulations, and State policies and procedures. This position as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for children, birth to three, is located within the catchment area of the Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) of the Cape Fear. This position will be located in the Fayetteville office and serve children in and the surrounding areas (Robeson Co, Cumberland Co., Bladen Co., & Sampson Co).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served; or
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in the age range 0 – 5 and their families, including children with developmental delays.
  • Experience administering developmental evaluation measures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of young child development.
  • Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies.
  • Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles.
